Toyota Avanza is a car manufactured in Indonesia by the manufacturer Toyota, which is marketed in two brands of Toyota Avanza and Daihatsu Xenia. This car was launched at Gaikindo Auto Expo in 2003 and sold 100,000 units in that year. The name "Avanza" comes from the Italian avanzato, which means "improvement". Special version of the Avanza (S Type) was launched in late 2004 using Toyota's VVT-i engine.
